Gunmen have abducted a man and his wife on a road in Abia State.
The couple, who operates a private school, was attacked on Saturday night in Ugwunagbo council on their way from buying some items meant for the school’s end-of-year party.
Their three children who were reportedly with them at the time of the attack, were left stranded after their parents were whisked away by the assailants.
Police said they were monitoring the attack with a view to apprehending the outlaws.
Gunmen also abducted a trader in an invasion of Iyemero-Ekiti in Ajoni Local Council Development Authority of Ekiti State.
A source said Alhaja Nusirat Saliu was abducted about 8pm on Saturday.
“The gunmen followed the woman into her shop, grabbed and dragged her into the forest as they shot indiscriminately to scare the people.
“A man who resisted them was given a deep machete wound on his head.”
Police spokesman Sunday Abutu said the command was yet to be briefed on the incident.
