Founder of Omega Power Ministries, OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has called out telecommunications operator 9mobile for punishing Nigerians.

Newsmen had reported that many 9mobile customers are currently experiencing hardship due to the telecom operator’s decision to block porting requests.

It was gathered that 9mobile has been out of service for over a month.

Subscribers lamented their inability to receive or make calls, send texts, use their SIM cards, or even port to other, better networks.

Reacting, Chinyere, on his X page, queried the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, for not sanctioning 9mobile.

He said, “Is NCC still the regulatory body of telecoms in Nigeria? Or have they been bought over? How can they allow 9mobile to punish Nigerians? 9mobile refused to work and refused to let people port to other networks with their number? What kind of wickedness is this?

“If NCC refuses to act, I will seriously escalate this matter. This modern-day slavery will not stand. Nigerians have the right to use any network they like. You can’t cage a number I bought from you!”

Also reacting, a member of the House of Representatives, Akin Alabi, on his X page, said, “We, the customers of 9mobile, need both an association and a therapy group.”
