Telecommunications company 9mobile has issued an apology to its customers for the recent service disruptions affecting voice, data, and internet services.

In a statement released by the management, 9mobile acknowledged the challenges faced by its users and expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused.
“Our technical team has identified the root causes of the outages, including a fire incident at our Main Data Centre in Lagos last night, which severely impacted services, particularly in Lagos and the South-West. We are thankful for the swift response of the Lagos State Fire Service, which helped contain the situation and prevented further damage,” the statement read.

The company further explained that prior to the fire incident, network interruptions were caused by multiple fibre cuts. A major fibre cut on backbone links in Lagos led to a nationwide data outage, compounded by two vandalism incidents in Lagos and Abuja. These disruptions resulted in a total service outage in the South-West and data outages in the North.

According to the management, services have been fully restored in the North and South-South regions, while restoration efforts are ongoing in other affected areas. Full restoration is expected soon.

“At 9mobile, customer satisfaction is our top priority. We value the trust you place in us and appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time,” the statement added.

Customers who continue to experience issues are encouraged to contact 9mobile’s customer service team through its social media channels or visit the company’s experience centres for assistance.

9mobile reiterated its commitment to resolving the issues promptly and thanked customers for their continued support.
