Thirty people have been declared dead after two buses collided and burst into flames on the Benin-Ore-Ijebu Ode Expressway at Onipetesi community in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

This was confirmed by the Ondo Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps on Sunday.
Sector Commander Mr. Samuel Ibitoye stated that preliminary investigations revealed one of the vehicles involved in the accident was driving against traffic.

He said 30 people lost their lives with 28 of them burnt beyond recognition.

According to him, two of the deceased persons were initially alive but later died while being taken to the hospital.
