Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

As we proudly step into the year 2025, I am honored to welcome you all to a new era of limitless possibilities, reflection, gratitude, and renewed determination. The year 2024 has been a remarkable journey, filled with unique challenges and triumphs that have shaped us into a stronger, more proactive Bar.

Together, we have confronted and overcome significant national issues, championed the cause of justice, advocated for the rule of law, and stood firm in protecting the rights and welfare of our members across the country. As we embark on this new journey, I am filled with hope and optimism, knowing that our collective efforts will propel us toward a brighter future.

The year 2025 promises to be a defining period for the NBA and the legal profession in Nigeria. We remain steadfast in our commitment to advancing judicial reforms, strengthening the independence of the judiciary, and addressing systemic challenges that hinder the swift and fair dispensation of justice.

Our commitment to the welfare of lawyers remains unwavering. We will continue to push for better opportunities for all our members, especially young lawyers, ensuring they receive the respect and dignity they deserve in the course of their practice.

This year will also be marked by intensified advocacy for the rule of law and human rights. We will remain at the forefront of holding authorities accountable and ensuring that citizens’ rights are upheld. We will work tirelessly to address issues such as police brutality, unlawful detentions, and other human rights abuses, while partnering with stakeholders to foster a more just and equitable society.

Our strength as a Bar lies in our unity. As we embark on the tasks ahead, I encourage every member of the NBA to foster collaboration, dialogue, and mutual respect. Together, we can overcome the challenges facing our profession and our nation.

Let us continue to stand as a beacon of hope, integrity, and resilience for Nigeria. As we reflect on the past year, we are grateful to everyone who has contributed to the progress of our dear Association. Your dedication, ideas, and hard work have been instrumental in the strides we have made.
