In view of the prevailing youth restiveness in parts of Minna, the Niger State Police Command has arrested 15 suspects allegedly involved in thuggery and miscreants clashes in some parts of Minna metropolis.

The affected parts include Angwan-daji, Limawa, Angwan-sarki, Tudun-natsira, Flamingo, Barkin-sale and Soje area of Kpakungu Minna.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP, Monday Bala Kuryas, made the disclosure in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, PRO Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.

The CP said, “It is imperative to state categorically that Niger State Police Command has exhibited enough restraint in curtailing this menace without resorting to the use of lethal means in dealing with these undesirable elements in our communities.

“The Command hereby wishes to warn parents/guardians that enough is enough, and should caution their wards against unruly behaviour as such act will henceforth be dealt with ruthlessly.”

The CP warned that anyone found fomenting trouble or disrupting the public peace at any point in time shall be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Kuryas also disclosed, “The Command has commenced aggressive and robust patrols and raids of Minna metropolis and has so far arrested fifteen (15) suspects from Angwan-daji, Limawa, and Barkin-sale area of Minna for disturbance of public peace.”

The statement further stated that those arrested will be arraigned in court for prosecution, while urging people of the state not to panic as the Command is on top of the situation.

“Members of the of the public are advised not to panic or entertain any fear as the command is on top of the situation and is dominating the identified locations where these dastardly acts are being perpetrated,” it stated.
