The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has appointed

Jamilu Abdu Indabawa as the new Commander for its Katsina State Command.

Indabawa, who was formerly the Deputy Commandant of Corps, planning, Research and Statistics at Akwa Ibom Command and later Commandant in-Charge of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) Zone L, Rivers Zonal Command which comprises Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.

The redeployment was contained in a press release issued on Tuesday by the Katsina NSCDC Spokesperson, DSC Mohammed Tukur.

According to the statement, Indabawa is an officer with vast experience as Commander who joined the Corps in 2005 and has served in different capacities over the years across numerous NSCDC formations in the country.

His redeployment to the Katsina Command, may not be unrelated to his deep knowledge of the people and terrain of the state, where he served as Area Commander for the NSCDC Daura and Funtua Area Commands, Tukur disclosed in the statement.

During the handover ceremony held at the state command headquarters, the outgoing commandant, Muhammad Sanusi Bello, enjoined all personnel of the Command to accord the new commandant the same loyalty and cooperation he enjoyed during his time.

On his part, Indabawa, the new Katsina NSCDC Commandant thanked the outgoing commandant for the wonderful reception and seamless transition accorded to him, assuring that the Command under his watch will not rest on its oars in ensuring peace and order before, during and after the election.

The new commandant also solicited for the cooperation of the citizens to achieve the noble task ahead of him, assuring the good people of the state of his commitment to the fight against all forms of crimes and criminalities in the state.

Jamilu Abdu Indabawa was born in the ancient city of Kano 53 years ago. He had his Primary and Secondary education at Kofar Na’isa Primary School, kano between 1976-1982 and Rumfa College between 1983-1988, respectively.

Between 1989-1994, Indabawa attended the Kano State Polytechnic, where he had his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Business Management Studies. He later proceeded to the renowned Bayero University Kano where he obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) between 1997-2000.
