A popular human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, SAN, has bared his mind on the ongoing governorship elections in Edo State.

Adegboruwa, in a statement made available to newsmen titled “My Take On Edo Election”, said whoever the Western Powers Want will always carry the day.

“Edo Election was determined by the US, EU, and the western powers. As simple as that. Whoever they favour will always carry the day.
So it was in 2015 so it is now.” Adegboruwa said

He added that Nigerian leaders are afraid of losing visa to access their loots in those countries. They also don’t want to lose the opportunity to have medical treatment in those countries.

He said, “Our leaders are scared to be placed under visa restrictions, where they may not be able to access their loot and have opportunity for good medical treatment.
This is what has led to peace in Edo.”

According to Adegboruwa, there will always be free and fair elections in Nigeria if Western Powers Want It. He hailed President Buhari for not interfering with the ongoing elections of Edo State and the electorates for their vigilance

“If America and the Western powers want it, the election in Nigeria will always be free.

Secondly, whether we agree or not, President Buhari has also shown himself to be a good leader, in allowing the will of the people to prevail.

Above it all, we salute the courage of the Edo electorate, very enlightened and vigilant.” Adegboruwa concluded
