1. Governor Ganduje of Kano State has vowed that Hanifa Abubakar, the five-year-old pupil, who was murdered by the proprietor of her school must get justice. Hanifa was abducted in December and later killed by Abdulmalik Tanko, proprietor of Noble Kids Nursery and Primary School, Kano, where she was enrolled.

2. More than a dozen girls were abducted in Boko Haram’s latest attack in a community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, according to a resident. It was gathered that civilians fled into the bush and surrounding villages when they struck at Pemi village near Chibok.

3. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has released guidelines for the e-Valuator and e-Invoice to replace hard copy invoices for both exports and imports. A circular to that effect was issued yesterday by Dr. O. S. Nnaji, Director, Trade and Exchange Department of the CBN.

4. Former Imo State Governor and the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district, Rochas Okorocha, on Friday, said thousands of youths in the states have been killed under the administration of Hope Uzodimma as governor. Okorocha said this through his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, in Owerri yesterday.

5. President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, called on the relevant bodies to ensure justice is served in the murder of Hanifa Abubakar, the five-year-old schoolgirl killed in Kano State.

6. The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, on Friday stated that no fewer than 18,000 positive cases of the coronavirus disease were detected from inbound travellers to Nigeria. He said the thorough examination process was to ensure a balance in the mandate to protect the health of Nigerians.

7. Fears are mounting over recent attacks by kidnappers in the Ogun and Oyo States axes of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with three reported cases recorded between January 8 and 17. Some drivers and commuters who regularly ply the route said they were worried by the incidents which according to them had become rampant since December 2021.

8. There are strong indications that academic activities in the nation’s universities may be disrupted by the end of this month if the Federal Government is unable to implement the Memorandum of Action, MoA, signed with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

9. Afenifere group in the United Kingdom and Europe has urged Nigerians to explore the 2023 general election to elect leaders that will restructure the country. In a statement, the group Secretary, Anthony Ajayi insisted that restructuring is the only solution to Nigeria’s progress.

10. Elected state Governors on the platform of the PDP, and other chieftains, led by its National chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Friday, stormed Lagos State, with a vow to intensify strategy and efforts toward taking over the state leadership in 2023 general elections.
