The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), has commended and congratulated two of its members – the Managing Partner of S. P. Ajibade & Co, Dr. Ajibade, SAN and Senior Partner at Templars, Olumide Akpata.

This is contained in two different letters signed by the Chairman of the NBA-SBL Governing Council, Seni Adio, SAN, sighted by LEGALDESKNG

Adio applauded Dr. Ajibade SAN for exhibiting decorum and sportsmanship in the just concluded elections of the Nigerian Bar Association

He said “The campaign and the electioneering for the office of the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has come and gone. However, your decorum, composure, sportsmanship, and issues-centric discourse REMAIN. For these qualities and many more, NBA-SBL considered it a propose to salute your.”

NBA-SBL said it is looking forward to working with Ajibade to take the Section to greater heights

Seni Adio, SAN, also congratulated Akpata for his election as the 30th President of the NBA.

He said Akpata’s election came at a critical point in history of NBA. He urged him to take the Association back to its revered status but admitted, however, that it would require challenging power, fighting for Rule of Law, independence of the Judiciary and place for lawyers in the competitive market

“Your election has come at a critical juncture in the history of the NBA which also coincides with the Diamond Jubilee – 60th Anniversary of our Association. We are in “interesting” times both domestically and internationally and your election presents an opportunity to demonstrate exemplary and inclusive leadership that will take one noble profession back to its highly revered status or, at least, take us far along on the path. This will require you to be audacious and fiercely independent in challenging “power” and fighting (almost literally) for the rule of law. Independence of the Judiciary, and a front-seat for Nigerian lawyers in the highly competitive commercial law practice” Adio, SAN said

NBA-SBL assured Akpata of its support and also wished him the best for an “eminently successful tenure.”
