Eti Osa High/ Magistrate Courts Complex, Oke Ira Nla Ready For Commissioning?
Just as Eti-Osa people are about to roll out the drums for yet another milestone achievement by the Lagos State government in Eti-Osa Local Government Area; we can now see that officials of the same Government are confused or seriously ignorant of the Eti-Osa LG and its environs.
Why High/Magistrate Courts, Ajah Badore?
Is this to say or describe Ajah in Badore or Ajah and Badore as one and the same? What or where is Ajah Badore on the planet? Is it the name of the Judicial Division (which is usually written on the signage of the Courts) or the address of the location of the court (which is usually for correspondence purposes) Ajah and Badore are two non-contigous areas in Eti-Osa and both are different from the exact location of the court.
The court is actually in Okeira Nla. Can you imagine? This is how some government officials unwittingly instigate intra communal crisis or boundary disputes by their sheer ignorance. As Eti-Osa community earlier demanded, why not avoid this confusion and name it High/Magistrate Courts, ETI-OSA, which is the generic or corporate name of the entire community and then consign the details of the address to the letterheads? This is especially because it’s now apparent that Lagos Civil Servants don’t care to understand the geography or sociology of the people. The courts in Ikorodu, Epe, Badagry, Ikeja and so on are simply named after the generic names of the entire areas/Local Governments or administrative divisions notwithstanding the road, street or bus stop, thereby avoiding unnecessary confusion.
Unfortunately, the Eti-Osa area where the government generates the most revenue especially from landed properties is also the least known by officials of Government. This is sad, immediately we rejected the court complex being named Lekki, they became confused, they really don’t know us. The Sanwo-Olu administration has been completing abandoned projects in Eti-Osa, which is quite commendable but it appears some officials are bent on undermining the achievement of the Government by scuttling the commissioning with wrong naming. This is the second time here in Eti-Osa. The Mother and Child Health Centre was also wrongly named for commissioning and was only corrected after the people protested.
Quite unfortunate! Or could there be a hidden agenda behind the government avoiding the use of Eti-Osa? So sad that every time here, wonderful projects for which this new government should be commended are ruined with wrong names thereby instigating protests instead of commendations. Some officials are playing spoilers. The current error should be corrected before commissioning, it’s simply ETI-OSA, and the Governor must arrest this unfortunate development going forward.

Alhaji Chief Okunmoyinbo Mustapha
