The Iviukwe Bombers, a team managed by Mike Ozekhome Foundation (MOF) was on 28th December at the finals of the Akpakpa Vighi Vighi Annual Football tournament trashed the Rising Stars team to a 2 nil win.

Iviukwe Bombers was founded in 1988 by human rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN.

The competition according to the senior Advocate is meant to develop and grow football amongst the youth in Edo state. A move which has indeed thrown up many stars, amongst whom is Shehu Sani Emmanuel, who later played for the Under-17 and Under-20.

The Senior Advocate also founded the Ozekhome Babes Football Club (a wholly girls team) that made waves in the 90s and 2000s.

MOF also operates and coordinates the annual Scholarship scheme under which over 60 scholarships are given out yearly to brilliant, but indigent students of Secondary Schools.

The Foundation also superintends over the annual grants for peasant farmers, traders, widows and the most vulnerable of the society. It empowers the youth and women through donation of motorcycles, sewing and grinding machines, hair dressing equipment, etc.
