In the report of the NBA Fund Stabilization Committee ably Chaired by Jonathan Gunu Taidi, SAN at NEC meeting held on the 20th June 2024, two proposals were made, namely: the establishment of the NBA Online Microfinance Bank, and the Establishment of Housing/Mortgage Finance Scheme for members of the Association. These are the main objectives of the NBA Stabilization Fund.
It is, therefore, timely and imperative that the NBA establish a viable and sustainable entity that will grow its funds and at the same time cater for the banking and other needs of its members across the 129 branches.
The idea of a Lawyers Microfinance Bank (LMFB), which will be digitally enabled, will provide a range of financial and other services to members of the Association.
The committee recommended among others to Incorporate Lawyers Microfinance Bank (LMFB) and obtain digital banking license.
This is in tandem with my manifesto as presented to ECNBA.
If voted to office as the Treasurer I will continue to give strength to this proposal for its implementation.
