The Lagos State Government is partnering Echostone Housing for a virtual showcase of its first green and eco-friendly estate located in Idale, Badagry.
In line with the lockdown and social distancing regulations put in place to curtail the spread of COVID-19, the state government has opened an enlightenment programme on mortgage financing.

The state Commissioner for Housing, Mr Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, said the virtual showcasing became imperative following the government’s desire to move ahead, despite all challenges, with its mandate of providing decent and affordable homes for its citizenry.

In a statement on Friday by the Director of Public Relations in the ministry, Mrs Adeola Salako, the commissioner disclosed that the virtual showcasing of the Peridot Parkland Estate was necessary because of the joint venture housing project has been completed and now available for delivery to the public.

Akinderu-Fatai said, “Peridot Parkland Estate Idale comprising 252 two-bedroom bungalows is a joint venture Housing project which is ready for habitation, we want to move ahead to other projects hence the need to present this scheme to the public to generate awareness of its uniqueness.”

He further pointed out that the virtual event would also unveil convenient financial solutions crafted to ease accessibility and promote the affordability of homes in the state.

“A major goal of Lagos State housing policy is affordability, hence arrangement has been made for panellists from various organizations of the Housing sector to enlighten participants on convenient mortgage facilities that could bring people on the homeownership ladder with ease,” he added.

Akinderu-Fatai reiterated the commitment of the administration of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu to increasing the available home units and enhancing access to decent homes for as many people as possible in Lagos State.

“We are committed to reducing housing deficit and removing barriers to homeownership in the state. LlAll hands are on deck to complete all ongoing projects as soon as the lockdown is lifted,” he said.

On the webinar, the Chief Executive Officer of Echostone Housing, Mr Sammy Adigun, said it would be a good opportunity for intending homeowners to gain expert financial tips and tools on mortgage financing.
