Mr. Kunle Edun has disclaimed the email purportedly said to have emanated from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and him, in which members were urged to go through some forms by clicking on the link contained in the mail.
This is contained in a statement issued by him which was made available to TheNigeriaLawyer.
He disclosed that the said email was fake as he did not authorize or knows anything about same.
Besides, he noted that there is a manifest contradiction in the said mail alleged to have been sent by him and at the same time signed by the Secretary of NBA. Thus, urging members to discard same as fake.
The statement reads:
PURPORTED EMAIL EMANATING FROM NBA, OLUKUNLE EDUN–WORK OF HACKERS.
A DISCLAIMER
My attention has just been drawn to some emails sent today to some of our members purporting to have emanated from OLUKUNLE EDUN and the NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION and purportedly signed by the NBA General Secretary, Jonathan Gunu Taidi, stating that the Nigerian Bar Association requests members who received the obviously fake email to go through some attached forms by clicking a link on the email.
Please, all should be informed that the email is FAKE, it is the handwork of fraudsters. It did not emanate from the Nigerian Bar Association, the General Secretary or my humble self. My yahoo email is account is not registered with the name Olukunle Edun. Moreso, an email cannot purport to have been sent by OLUKUNLE EDUN and at the same time signed out by Jonathan Gunu Taidi.
Please, kindly delete all such emails if you have received them and don’t click any link thereon.
