Justice Chioma Iheme Nwosu regains freedom after 15 days of abduction by unknown gunmen.

The Chairman of Owerri branch, D.O Nosike, on Wednesday, disclosed the good news of her release, stating “Good evening Learned Silks, distinguished seniors and colleagues. It’s with a joyful heart and praises to God Almighty, that I announce to us all that my Lord, Hon. Justice Chioma Nwosu-Iheme has been released. I thank God Almighty, and all of us, for our steadfastness, support, and prayers. I wish to thank the State Government especially, for her immeasurable assistance. Good night all and God bless.”

As at the time of filing this report, Legaldeskng is yet to ascertain if any ransom was paid to secure her release.

Legaldeskng reported that Hon. Justice Nwosu Iheme of the Court Of Appeal, Benin City, Edo state was on the 29th of October, kidnapped by daredevil and violent gunmen in Benin City on her way to court.

Recall also that the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro, SAN has been on this case calling on Federal government and security agencies to ensure that Justice Chioma Iheme is released unconditionally.

The NBA Benin and Owerri also did not relent in their efforts to see that she is released.

The branches went as far as boycotting courts calling for her release.

A very senior lawyer and rights activist Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), passionately appealed to the abductors of Justice Chioma Iheme-Nwosu of the Court of Appeal in Benin City, to release her unhurt.

The Eshi of Nkwerre (traditional ruler of Nkwerre ancient kingdom) and Deputy Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Chijioke Okwara and her kinsmen appealed to the Federal Government and the security agencies to do everything within their powers to rescue their daughter, Justice Chioma Iheme-Nwosu from her abductors.
