The Zamfara State Security Trust Fund, ZSTF, has announced that it has put in place formidable strategies to raise funds for the purchase of weapons, operational vehicles and other logistics for security agencies to battle terrorists.

The Chairman of the organization and former Inspector General of Police, IGP, Muhammad Dahiru Abubakar, disclosed this on Friday.

He spoke shortly after the commissioning of the Security Trust Fund in Gusau, by the state governor, Dauda Lawal.

According to him, security is the responsibility of everybody and not that of the security agencies alone, saying that everyone should join forces to tackle banditry activities in the State.

“We should not leave the issue of security on the shoulders of the security operatives and government alone,” he said.

Speaking further, the chairman explained that it is the responsibility of the State Security Trust Fund to shoulder the medical expenses of the injured security operatives as well as take care of their families’ welfare.

“That will encourage the security operatives to focus more on their legitimate endeavors of securing lives and property in the state.

“That was the main purpose of establishing the Security Trust Fund by the present administration being led by Dauda Lawal.”

He appealed to the residents of the state to give total support to the State Security Trust Fund to achieve its aims and objectives.
