A legal practitioner and human rights advocate, Mr. Vincent Adodo has addressed a demand to the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to fix the failed portions of the Abuja Keffi Expressway within 7 days or face legal action.

In the letter addressed to the Managing Director of the Agency and received on the 7th October 2024, the lawyer highlighted the need for the Federal agency to urgently address the dilapidated state of the road which is the only passage route from the Nyanya Mararaba axis for thousands of public servants and private sector employees employed in the Federal Capital Territory

“I wish to bring to your notice and that of your esteemed agency the general deplorable situation of a portion of the Abuja – Keffi Expressway beginning from Nyanya checkpoint, Abuja through the road to Muhammadu Buhari International Market, Orange Market, Karu, Nasarawa State.” The lawyer stated.
The lawyer highlighted the sufferings that citizens plying the road have been subjected to for several years. He called in FERMA to repair the road being a Federal road connecting the Federal Capital Territory with Nasarawa State.

In the event of the failure of the agency to heed the demand, the lawyer indicated his intention to institute legal action against the Agency for failing to fulfill it’s statutory mandate.
