The crisis rocking the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja (Unity) Branch seems to be unabated.

It would be recalled that the President of the NBA, Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN had earlier own set up a three-man electoral committee led by the NBA General Secretary, Mr. Jonathan Taidi with a view to organizing a unified election for the Branch which was defied.

Besides, in order to ensure that the current crisis rocking the Branch gets settled via internal mechanisms, Adegboyega Solomon Awomolo (SAN) led Mr. Ibrahim Eddy Mark and Mr. Mazi Afam Osigwe both of whom were former General Secretaries of the NBA in a bid to resolve the crisis which did not apparently yield a positive result.

However, the Branch is now polarized into two factions that saw the emergence of two Executives from both factions at the concluded elections both held on the 11th June, 2020.

However, the Folarin Aluko led faction conducted an election on 11th June, 2020 which saw the emergence of Bulus Atsen as the new faction Branch Chairman.

Meanwhile, the Folarin faction produced the following members of the new Executive:

Vice-Chairman: Ukuoritsemofe Ogbe

Secretary: Eric Ibe

Financial Secretary: Likko Al-Bashir

Social Secretary: Somayina Chigbue

Welfare Secretary: Mohammed Abdussalam Saleh

Publicity Secretary: Olatunji Atoyebi

Legal Adviser:Olufon Oluwatosin

In another development, the Abimbola Kayode led faction returned Hauwa Shekarau elected as the Chairman.

Meanwhile, the Abimbola led faction produced the following new Executives:

Secretary: Adebiyi Adetosoye

Assistant Secretary: Chinelo Audrey Ofoegunam
