Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said they will not catch Arsenal if they keep playing poorly.

Guardiola was speaking after the champions came from two goals down to beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at the Etihad on Thursday night.

“We are far away from the team we had in previous seasons. Do you think this comeback will happen every time? It won’t.

“We have an opponent in Arsenal who have the fire. Two decades without winning the Premier League. I am explaining the reality, everything is so comfortable (at City) but opponents don’t wait.

“Do you think we’re going to chase the gap to Arsenal with the way we are playing? No way,” Guardiola said.

The win took City to within five points behind Arsenal who host Manchester United on Sunday.

However, Guardiola’s men could cut the Gunners’ lead to two points, as they play Wolves before the kick-off at the Emirates.
