The Dele Adesina SAN (DASAN) Group, has denied the allegations suggesting that the group is planning to truncate the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect, Olumide Akpata.
The group which represented the interest of one of the leading presidential candidates during the recently-concluded elections of the Nigerian Bar Association, refuted this claim on Wednesday, following the reports making the rounds on many media outlets and online platforms, that it planned to challenge the outcome of the election through a variety of methods, including litigation.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the campaign coordinator, Adesina Adegbite, who described the reports as irresponsible, noted that the group took exception to the reports.
He went on to state that the reports are ridiculous and capable of provoking otherwise rational persons to consider more extreme measures, but he chooses to respond to the allegation this way.
He said: “Our candidate, Deacon Dele Adesina, SAN, had made it clear on several occasions that he was not inclined to instituting a lawsuit against the polls, neither was there a discussion during a meeting of the pan-Yoruba lawyers’ group, Egbe Amofin (to which the reports refer) in respect of setting up a parallel Bar Association in response to the recent events in the Association”.
