Achieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, says the ruling party rewards and pampers enemies.

Igbokwe made the comment in reaction to the names on the list of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the forthcoming 2023 elections.

The 422-member list released on Friday includes a former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, who defected to the party last year and the Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Chimaroke Nnamani, who is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

“All things considered APC Nigeria poor reward system in Nigeria worries me to the marrows,” he posted on Facebook.

“The party rewards idle people, hangers-on, layabouts, interlopers, cowards, onlookers etc.

“I am not talking about myself. I have job in Lagos and my hands are full. I am talking about the hundreds I know who have been slaving for APC even in most difficult times.

“They buy their data. They repair phones or buy new phones. Bigots, haters, cultural savages, workers of iniquity etc abuse them hours on end. They have calm, committed and resilient.”

In 2021, Igbokwe lamented the defection of Fani-Kayode to the APC as well as the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to personally receive him at the Presidential Villa.

In the past, the former minister had described APC as a party of looters, saying he would rather die than join them.

Commenting on Fani-Kayode’s defection via a series of posts on his Facebook page, Igbokwe said many APC members had not been rewarded despite their loyalty to the party.
