President Bola Tinubu’s administration has established a high-powered committee to review and update Nigeria’s outdated laws within six months. Attorney General Prince Lateef Fagbemi emphasized the need for meticulous execution.
“I’ve always been concerned about our inability to update the Laws of the Federation since 2004,” Fagbemi said. “The law is constantly evolving, and we must address contemporary socio-economic developments.”
The committee, chaired by Mr. Olawale Fapohunda and Professor Jummai Audi, will review and update laws, harmonize conflicting laws, identify outdated laws for repeal or merger, and prepare a comprehensive report.
Fagbemi expressed gratitude to supporting organizations and assured them of institutional support.
