The lifeless body of an 11-year-old boy has been recovered from a pond at Zaidawa village, Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State.
Kano State Fire Service confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen.
The Spokesman for the service, Alhaji Saidu Muhammad Ibrahim said the victim was believed to have been playing around the pond before he accidentally slipped into the water and drowned.
He disclosed that the incident took place on Tuesday, while his corpse was recovered by its personnel on Wednesday.
“The 11-year-old boy was playing around the pond where he accidentally slipped into the water and drowned.
“His corpse had been handed to the deceased family for burial,” Ibrahim added.
